wooden treasure, i love it. i'm curious to know more about your blog however....just stumbled on it through another and i'm intrigued and the mystery of flea market aquisitions. is this your professional gig? california seems like a goldmine
I found a little horse exactly like this some weeks ago, I have some birds by the same artist too. Paid 10 sek (less than 2 usd) for the horse. The birds I find quite often, typical local souvenir from the 50's/60's in Sweden. "Konsthantverk" means arts and crafts. Love it! And your blog is so good, you taught me who Carl Aubock is, so now i know who made my two fish bottle openers bought for 5 sek each.
amy t.-R4TH is basically an inventory of some of my favorite flea/antique finds with some other stuff thrown in for good measure....a footnote of sorts to my professional gig.
Elisabet-thanks for the additional info, I get anxious thinking about all the amazing flea market treasures out of reach in europe.*The weekly flea in Vienna is a great place to find Aubock pieces if you find yourself there-but for more than 5 sek of course-keep digging.

Uncanny resemblance with a tribal horse statuette that a fiend of mine got me from India. Cross-cultural influence? Chariots of the Gods?
