Peter Shire holding his Henry award from the California Museum of Design 2011.
Jayme Odgers, an artist and designer friend of Shire's who first met Peter round 1978 at a Wet magazine party in Malibu, has said that Peter's works "bridge the terrain between art/design, function and non-utilitarianism. They are gorgeously outrageous. They smear the professional and personal.
In the early eighties we used a coined word to describe what Peter does with his life and art: we called it 'Blendo'. He's a fellow Blendo. He lives and works in the borders between the obvious, blending opposites, merging disparate elements into a unique whole that is all his own."

Duxbak
More/chore/bore~nice condition Duxbak shooting jacket from the bowl, I've looked and passed on so many of these type of jackets, they are either huge and short or costume-core...this guy has great tailoring and details-clean front middle pocket-hidden cigarette pocket and heavy canvas.

Whittled bird found in the Northwoods WI- I'm drawn to pieces which use minimal descriptive information in the act of whittling to achieve the desired form...it could also be the measure of ones attention span or rudimentary skill~but this bird is singing O<.

Renaissance Books WI
I love Wisconsin-for a bunch of good reasons~Renaissance used bookstore located inside General Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee being one. I always find something in there, and have had my name called over the loudspeaker due to its powers of distraction. If you are flying out of Milwaukee the plan is to get there a little early.
ps-the downtown location is just nuts.
