PCC loot from last weekend. Beautiful Mexican Serape, fine wool & weave. WW2 Indigo denim pullover work shirt, nice fade-wear, I love the side entry pockets on this jacket (which have been transplanted on some bad contemporary garments of late). Vintage matchbooks. Natural canvas duck apron, 1940's. 1980's Lanvin for Les (shoulder pad surgery requested). WW2 HBT daisey mae. In house relatives here, here and here.

Engine Takes To The Water

A bunch of photographs from my fathers album I rediscovered on this trip, all from the mid 60's to 1970. From top to bottom...

1. Dad behind the wheel of the Marie Glen Valena, his favorite among the few boats he owned, he took over as skipper following the death of his father George.

2. Dad and his brother Maitland on their rides, his mother is standing in the cabin of a converted VW van, out of which she used to sell vintage clothing door to door. Vehicle Envy.

3. Pop-George in the engine room of the Mercury.

4. George on deck (bow) of the Mercury- looking back at dad.

5. Traditional cane Crayfish pots stacked on the Mercury deck, dad climbed the mast to take this shot.

6. Champagne!-the blessing of the fleet, Victoria Dock 1969.

7. Dad and Pop dancing in identical step with the ladies of the lighthouse, Tasmania.

Back in my hometown zip this weekend, details from Dads. His Father George posing between cray pots with two of the days finest, late 50's (awesome home knit shawl collar). Smiths Astral-wheelhouse clock, UK made. The Cutty Sark, hand made, sewn and micro rigged in Mauritius. Henry Browne and Son-wheelhouse Barometer, UK made, both the dials came of George's first boast The Mercury, and were later given to my father. Related post.

Handmade shooting vest, constructed from stitched together vintage canvas shot bags. The crazy thing about this item was all the duck feathers & muck inside the back flap pocket, read- used item. Nice functional pocket detailing and composition, some consideration sewn into this one-won on ebay.
