Into The Ground
Lesley and I finished our miniature works for Imaginary Thing today. The exhibition, guest curated by Peter Eleey for the Aspen Art Museum, is literally an underground affair - taking place in an excavated hole in the ground. For the duration of the exhibition a different artist's work will be placed in the hole each day, eventually being filled with concrete to create a permanent yet invisible archive.

I love both of these pieces. How did you become involved with them?
ps. I came across your blog about a month ago and love it.
I carved the small skull, from English Limewood, and Lesley made the oil painting....both pieces are condensed/shrunken versions of our respective art practices to suit the parameters of the project......thanks for looking.
How did you become involved with the Aspen Art Museum?
We were invited by outside curator Peter Eleey.I'd also exhibited drawings in Aspen last year in a show called 'Sculptors Drawing'.
these are both incredible. what tools did you use to carve the skull?
