I made these house numbers in wax doweling (freewheeling the font) during foundry lunch break today-to be cast in bronze-tapped and fixed to the house with brass pins....more details if they survive the fiery furnace.

Nice job Cleverdick, these are awesome! I see Andy thinks so too....
A wonderful thing to behold. The junction points are so nice too.
Wow, that's really great. Is this a common process for doing things like this, or did you just wing it?
Can you keep that color? It's so nice!
wow
Thanks All
MONDO-It was the reference daddy himself who suggested I make my own numbers.
PN-junction points were fun to make-like welding in wax...it's also now my new favorite term.
NeuGrass-completely improvised with what was (thankfully) at hand at the foundry without any font reference/drawing-maybe cast letter originals are made something like this before being molded. I hope it shows in the individual numbers that they were handmade as separate objects.
Satan-once bronze they could be any color-painted/polished or patinated....thinkin matt black oxide or a wizardy roman patina.
"wizardy roman patina."
fuck yeah!
Did you design the font also? I LOVE them
That was me, Bea
