70's mystery pack from LBC last month-maybe a Hine?, something so practical yet experimental to all the design decisions here, proper camp stank to it too.
Love the ice axe loops and the weird top zipper. I've been collecting mountaineering clothing and seeing this I figured out why: the lack of ego (as Jasper Morrison puts it). Stuff like this pack are not trying to be anything, just serve a purpose. Pure design - love it.
oh, ice axe loops! Being a simpleton, was thinking that the loops would be handy for carrying pens (for journal writing on the trails...............) or a pocket knife (when pockets fail.................)

Camp stank goes well with campfire denim stank and salt spray tent stank too, nice leather details.

Very nice pack, but not a Hine Snowbridge; I've got copies of all their catalogs.
